Connector Leads/Jumper Wires

Summary

A selection of male-to-male, female-to-female and male-to-female connector leads (also known as jumper wires).

These wires can be used to easily connect components to the Grove board, or any other Arduino via header sockets, pins, plugs, shields or breadboards.

The wires are capped with one of two different types of connector:

  • Male connectors are metal pins which can plug into female connectors, header sockets (like the yellow ones on the Grove board), or the sockets on a breadboard.

  • Female connectors are small plastic sockets which metal pins can be fitted into. They can connect to male connectors or header pins on a board, including the pins inside the Grove plug sockets.

The wires provide in the Pack 2 Expansion Kit are a mixture of male-to-male (both ends have male connectors), female-to-female (both ends have female connectors) and male-to-female (one end has a male connector and one end has a female connector) which can be used to connect a range of different components.

How to Use

Most of the components in the Pack 2 Expansion Kit come with header pins and can be connected to the Grove board using female-to-female wires - connecting one end to the pins inside the Grove plug sockets in the central portion of the board, and the other end to the pins on whatever module you want to connect. More information on how to connect each module in the expansion pack is available on their individual pages.
